Dangerous

What a great service today!

"God did not die to make us safe. He died to make us dangerous!' ~Mark Batterson

At least 22 people went all in as they placed their faith in Jesus Christ. I watched as countless others prayed a very dangerous prayer - "God, here I am, take all of me!" The only thing more dangerous than praying that prayer would be not to pray it!

We have been called to make a difference in the world. That will never happen if we play it safe.

There were so many takeaways from what Mark Batterson said today. The one that hit home the most for me was the idea of the inverted gospel - asking Christ to follow me instead of me following Christ.

I admit that sometimes I get in front of what God's doing and ask Him to follow me, to cover my back. When what I should be saying is "God, lead the way and I will follow You!"

From time to time a great question to ask would be  - Who is following who?

I'd love to hear the specifics of your ALL IN decisions, so email them to me: stories@atleechurch.org

For those following along and reading through the New Testament, this week we will be reading 2 Thessalonians, chapters 1, 2 and 3, followed by Galatians, chapters 1 and 2.

I would also encourage you to take notes along the way when a verse pops out to you. You'll be surprised how God will use that at a later point in your life.

One last thought. What a privilege it was to be a part of ordaining Mike Abbamonte, Mark Tapscott and Ross Wright Saturday evening. On behalf of those guys, thanks for sharing in this special occasion.
