Another great weekend at Atlee! We were challenged to charge forward with our faith. No more playing defense; it's time to start playing offense. It's time to go ALL IN. It's time to stopping just believing in God and start believing God! That one decision alone could totally transform your life!
The challenge with making any decision is overcoming the excuses. As was pointed out this past weekend, our big ugly buts can get in the way of what God wants to do in us - therefore keeping him from working through us.
In case you missed it or want to see it again, here's the video clip from Sunday:
Shrink the buts! Gotta love it! The takeaways from Sunday were two statements and a question:
Indecision is a decision!
Inaction is an action!
Mark Batterson's words of encouragement:
"There are times in everyone's life when they're tempted to give up on their dream or give up on their goal. Maybe you're tempted right now to give up on your marriage or give up on your kids.
Hang in there. This two will pass. Even if there are no reinforcements and you’re out of ammunition, you need to charge the problem, charge the dream, charge the goal. Quit making excuses! Look for opportunities. Stop playing defense and start playing offense. You need to charge your marriage. You need to charge your finances. You need to charge your health. You need to charge your addiction.
You need to charge your children. You need to charge your goals. You need to charge your kingdom causes. You need to charge Jesus.”
The question: What is God asking you to believe? What do you need to charge forward with?
I hope you'll spend some time pondering that question. I also want to encourage you to work through the study guide as well as read the ALL IN book. In case you missed our weekend services, we'll rebroadcast the service this Thursday, January 30th at 7:00pm EST.
For those following along, the reading plan for this week is Galatians chapters 3 through 6 and 1 Corinthians chapter 1. Follow me on facebook for the verse of the day and the daily reminders.
