The Life I Now Live

For those following along, this week's reading will be the five chapters of 1 Thessalonians. Take your time and read a chapter a day or read all 5 chapters several times this week. The theme for this book is the second coming of Christ and the hope that we have because of the resurrection.

There was a lot of energy and excitement as we kicked off the new series today. Here are some highlights and things to remember from today's message.

The heart of the series is about a decision that we all need to make. The specifics of that decision will vary from person to person depending on where you are in your spiritual journey and what God is leading you to do.

The foundation for the decision is the same for all of us. It's a challenge based on a call to go ALL IN when it comes to our faith in Jesus Christ.

Our theme verse is Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me!

We are called to live by faith in who Jesus is, in what Jesus did and what Jesus said! This goes way beyond our salvation experience.

In Colossians 2:6-7 we are given this challenge - So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

We receive Christ by faith. and by that same faith we are called to live everyday of our lives. To increase your faith increase your knowledge of who Jesus is and what He said. To strengthen your faith exercise it! Put to practice the promises and principles of Christ and watch what happens!
