Atlee's 1st Online Service

Yesterday, before the online service started, I was reading in Exodus where God gave Israel the 10 Commandments. I came across this verse in Exodus 20:24 where God said to Moses, "Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you."
I thought about how this has applied to Atlee. As a church we have seen God come to us and bless us - sometimes in spite of ourselves. Others as well as myself have always felt for some reason or another God has chosen to honor His name through the ministry of this church. Not because we are special or any better than anyone else but because He "chose" to do so. We have seen 1000's come through the doors on Sunday mornings, we have seen 100's baptized, both young and old. I am convinced we will never know the impact Atlee has had this side of eternity.
Yesterday was really cool as I watched God do what only He can do. We held our first online service. We had over 300 computers logged in with an average of 2 people at each computer watching which means we had somewhere around 600 people participating. HOW COOL IS THAT! We had people participating as far away as Fort Bragg NC, Coraopolis PA, Aiken SC, East Carolina University, Roanoke, Culpeper and Hampton VA.
By the way that doesn't include pets - my 3 dogs were in the room sound asleep - not sure how to take that. :>)
In just 5 weeks we will celebrate our 15th year as a church and launch a second campus in the West End - I am still trying to wrap my brain around all that.
God has blessed us and given us a holy task, He has chosen to honor His name through this ministry. As we talked about yesterday let us follow the apostle Paul's advice in Philippians 3:16 - may we only live up to what we have already attained.
