An Explosion of God's Grace

What an incredible service this past weekend. Over 1700 people attended one of four different services between our three campuses. Over 40 people by show of hands experienced an "explosion of God's grace" in their life as they choose to exchange their "stain" for God's righteousness.

As we launch our new series this week, you can see from the series trailer below, we will be looking at some hot topic issues in our culture. Issues that have caused some horrific collisions and have left people hurt and confused. Our hope is that we will clear up some of the confusion and provide healing for those wounded by the collisions.

Sunday, we looked at what happens when our sin collides with a holy God. As many discovered, what results is not what you would expect. Instead of a collision with God's wrath, we are met with an explosion of God's grace.

Here is how Paul, an early follower of Christ and writer of much of the New Testament, describes it.

"There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, are justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:22-24)

"God made Jesus who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

"If we confess our sin he is faithful and just to forgive our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)

If you have not seen the message, watch it here. Also, feel free to share it with others. Here is a link to the song, Beautiful Exchange, that was performed at the end of the message. It really drives home what happens when our sin collides with God's grace!

Let me also say thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this past weekend happen. We could not do what we do week after week without your help and support. I hope you know that you also share in the reward of seeing so many folks find their way into an eternal relationship with God.

Coming up this week, our theme is Hurt//Forgiveness. If you or someone you know has been hurt and are wondering how to overcome the bondage associated with it, this will be a great service to attend as we look at the truth and myths of forgiveness.
